About The Department:

The department of Geography established in1985. It has well equipped laboratories, variety of instrument and equipments, computer hardware and software, internet connectivity and books and journals.
At present department installed the “Automatic Weather station”, which collects the climatic data of circumference of 20 Km. Collected data has been provide to research students.
Our department organized eight National level conferences, lead college scheme workshops successfully since 2009. Merit is our strength. Students of our department are University rankers every year. The department is continuously striving hard for the development of students and their placements. Our alumni are holding responsible position in dignified areas.
The department of geography has recognized (M.Phil./Ph.D) research center of the University. 10 Ph.D and 06 M.Phil research work completed by the students under the guidance of faculty.

Vision Statement:     

To lead the development of academic, educational, and research directions of human and natural systems, land cover/and land use change and geospatial information science, harnessing the integrative nature of geographic science to answer fundamental questions of global importance.

Missions: 

1) Understanding the physical set up & to highlight geographical scenario of the country
with advanced statistical & remote sensing techniques.
2) Enabling students to understand the use of advance tools & techniques in subject.
3) Getting knowledge of resources through field work at local level.
4) Starting Ph.D. & M.Phil., Research center & laboratory for research.
5) Organizing national & international level seminar & conferences in geography.
